CHALLENGER’S Dave Laney, after being the victim of a hit and run in early February, is well on his way to recovery – joints are healing and bones are slowly setting. The band plans on a hearty month long jaunt as part of the Jade Tree United tour (co-sponsored by our friends at along with labelmates Strike Anywhere, Paint it Black and From Ashes Rise, before embarking on further touring throughout the summer and well into the year. Laney along with fellow Milemarker denizen Al Burian are heading out to rock staunch support of their debut joint, Give People What They Want In Lethal Doses LP/CD (JT1092) — check the links below to see what the press has been saying about what is certainly one of the most raucous and heartfelt call-to-arms in recent years.
We’re so excited that in mere moments we get to hop on a plane and head out to Texas for the annual music conference. For those who imbibe there will always be tons of BBQ and beer, but hands down, year-after-year the best part of SXSW is always the music. This time won’t be any different and we have a tons of cool stuff going on as part of our showcase – both PEDRO THE LION and ONELINEDRAWING will be previewing new tracks from their forthcoming full lengths, STATISTICS (fresh off their tour with Engine Down) will be rocking us early with hits from the recently released LEAVE YOUR NAME, and our newest signing DESPISTADO will not only be playing their first show as an official Jade Tree band, but more importantly it will be the Canadians first show in American…period!
All that and blistering sets from DENALI, CEX, and ESTER DRANG has us shifting in our seats to get out of the office, soak up the sunshine and check out some great bands – see you in Austin!

THESE ARMS ARE SNAKES, who are still burning up the clubs after releasing the balls-heavy This Is Meant To Hurt You CDEP (JT1084) this past August, are currently planning for their debut full-length to drop sometime in the nearish future. In the meantime those of you lucky enough to live in/around Tacoma, WA can get your rock needs pacified as the band plans to debut most of their new tracks at their forthcoming March 13th gig at Hell’s Kitchen with good buddies Harkonen and Akimbo.
The rest of us unlucky folk can simply tune in to a live broadcast of their unadulterate live show being carried by local station .

Oklahoma’s original bad boys, ESTER DRANG are keeping the pressure on as the circle around the country, touring relentlessly on last years pristine and poignant Infinite Keys CD (JT1082) . This time around the band has solicited a local video artist to provide a stunning backdrop in addition to their already startling live show – from what we’ve heard it looks amazing, so be sure to check ‘em out and keep your ears peeled for a forthcoming one-sided LP on sometime this Spring
