The Story

Before scene puritans were clucking tongues about From Ashes Rise signing to the label that brought you The Promise Ring, there was Damnation. Stylistically, the band seemed destined for Victory or Revelation 'glory,' although it was Jade Tree who proudly presented the band's pit-ready breakdowns. With the crushing fuzz guitar of Ken Olden, Damnation combined brooding, metallic mosh-centric hardcore with dramatic lyrics to arrive at one of the more windmill-and-stagedive bands on the label's roster.

Where Are They Now?
Hillel Holloway It's all about Black Manta. Mike McTernan Mike is living in Massachusetts where he is an avid follower of the band American Nothing and probably still working at the Totally Turkey store. Alex Merchlinsky Currently lives in Baltimore, Maryland, where he is studying design at the Maryland Institute. Ken Olden Went on to form Better Than A Thousand with hardcore legend Ray Cappo before buying the old WGNS Studios and rechristening them Monster Island. Dave Ward In Los Angeles doing something art oriented, we still remember Dave as the guy who spray-painted the McTernan family basement with Aliens graffiti.
