The Story
With only one full-length album to their name alongside a handful of singles and compilation tracks, Cap’n Jazz left a longstanding impression and irrefutable influence on the region’s bohemian punk scene and unwittingly spawned a breeding ground for future scene stars such as the Promise Ring and Joan Of Arc. Analphabetapolothology compiles thirty-four songs over two compact discs and spans the band’s entire history--six tracks of which are previously unreleased. Traces of their sonic fingerprint permeate hundreds of indie records released in their wake. This is why.
Where Are They Now
Mike Kinsella
Chicago is home for Kinsella, who graduated college after eight years and has found success with his solo recordings under the name Owen. Mike can also sometimes be spotted in various incarnations of Joan of Arc and Owls.
Tim Kinsella
Sticking it out in Chicago, Kinsella is currently fronting Joan of Arc and Owls. Tim is also a solo artist, author, filmmaker and aspiring Gap model. In his free time, Kinsella bartends and is an avid shaving enthusiast.
Victor Villarreal
Currently living in Chicago, Victor plays guitar for both Ghosts & Vodka and Owls.
Davey vonBohlen
Currently lives in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where he is married, plays a lot of Playstation, and watches way too much ESPN Sportscenter.
Sam Zurick
Residing in Chicago, Zurick wears shorts all year long and eats lots of frozen pizza when he's not rotating between bass and guitar for bands like Ghosts & Vodka, Joan Of Arc, and Owls.
